Control entities and mechanisms
The activity of the Superintendency of Domiciliary Public Utilities is subject to control of several state entities.
Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic
The Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR [for its Spanish initials]) is the highest fiscal control body of the state. Its mission is to ensure the good use of public resources and properties and contribute to modernization of the state, through continued improvement actions in the various public entities. This office exercises fiscal subsequent and selective control to public management.

Office of the Inspector General of the Nation
The Office of the Inspector General of the Nation is the entity that represents citizens before the state. It is the highest body of the Public Ministry, which also comprises the Ombudsman Office and the municipal procurator offices.

General Accounting Office of the Nation
The General Accounting Office of the Nation is the guiding entity responsible to regulate the nation’s general accounting. This office exercises inspections of compliance with issued regulations and imposes penalties to entities, senior officers and other officials that breach them.
Congress of the Republic of Colombia
The Congress of the Republic exercises political control over the Executive Branch, through oversight of actions and/or omissions of state officials and the request of information about their functions and the performance thereof.

Ministry of Finance and Public Credit
The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit coordinates the macroeconomic policy; and defines, formulates and executes the country’s fiscal policy. It is its duty to make financial monitoring of the budget of public entities.
National Civil Service Commission
The National Civil Service Commission, CNSC [for its Spanish initials], is responsible for administration and oversight of careers of civil officials, with the exception of the ones with a special character.
